Zoe and Craig from Deeside had a strong vision for their wedding ceremony from the outset… They’d requested a ”relaxed, intimate, romantic, rustic, elegant, country, outdoors” wedding ceremony, which would also reflect their personal story and personailities.
OK then, challenge accepted…
We first met up in Lancashire so I could start to get to know this adorable couple better; to understand what was important to them and to start to suggest some ideas they could incorporate into their ceremony. I knew I needed to create something relaxed and personal, but at the same time it needed to be sincere and romantic.
Working with Zoe and Craig was an absolute joy – what they wanted most of all, wasn’t to have a big flashy wedding with a huge guest list, but to celebrate their love and marriage in an intimate way, with a small number of friends and family who were most important in their lives, and to do that with honesty, authenticity but above all, to have lots of fun!

Lisa created the perfect personalised ceremony for us.
Just the right amount of emotion and humour mixed with some traditional and non-traditional vows.
We took her advice for some alternative things and it worked so well and all the guests loved it and found it so interesting.

The Ceremony
It was important to Zoe and Craig that their guests felt included and part of their ceremony and so at every opportunity they were asked to contribute in some way or other.
The ceremony started with a warming of the wedding rings, so that every guest was able to hold the rings and imbue them with their good wishes, energy and blessings before they were exchanged.
There were traditional vows, personal vows and a group vow. Zoe’s sister delivered a poem she’d written herself and all guests took part in a group handblessing. The most personal and visual element of all was when the couple’s mums were invited to come forward as a surprise and physically tie the knot with a horse’s lead rope! And they made sure they did the job properly, by tying them together around their waists! For Zoe and Craig, as real horse-lovers, this was the most meaningful (and fun) way of them ‘tying the knot’! And then later they had some real family fun with the rope when it was used for an impromptu family tug of war!
Zoe and Craig’s wedding day was absolutey brimmimg with love and laughter, and it’s one that will stay with me for avery long time 🙂 xx
