Chateau de Clerbise
18th June 2018
The lovely Gemma and Ashley from Uttoxeter literally ‘Tied the Knot’ at Chateau de Clerbise in June 2018.
This was always going to be a special ceremony for me to deliver, as it was the same venue that my husband and I had chosen for our wedding, seven years earlier!
This couple had requested a ‘personal and romantic’ ceremony which included their two year old daughter; and with the setting of Chateau Clerbise as the inspiration, I was confident that I’d be able to deliver a ceremony that would exceed their expectations.
The evening before the wedding I went over to meet the bridal party and have a full run through of the logistics for the following day.
The result was perfect; everyone knew exactly what they were doing and the bridal party glided into the ceremony on the big day with absolute perfection!
The ceremony was very personal and told Ashley and Gemma’s very romantic love story. It focussed on what they mean to each other and what they hope for their future together as a family.
It really was a very emotional occasion; for me, for Ash and Gemma and for their wonderful guests. We laughed together and we cried together.
Ashley and Gemma, I wish you nothing but happiness, and I hope you enjoy a very long, healthy, prosperous and happy marriage xx
What the Bride and Groom had to say about their big day…
”From the very first email we sent to ‘You may now kiss the bride’ we were overwhelmed with the service you offered to us.
We specifically requested a very personal and romantic ceremony which involved our guests as much as possible. You captured our wishes perfectly and were always happy to offer your guidance and advice whenever we asked for it.
Our guests continue to tell us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to and that they have never experienced such a beautiful ceremony – our cheeks ached from all the smiles and laughter and there was not a dry eye in the house!
Thank you again for helping to make our day so perfect.
Gem, Ash and Aurora xx”
The Handfasting
Gemma and Ashley asked to include a handfasting within their ceremony as they wanted to involve some of their guests, and also include their beautiful daughter Aurora.
Some of their guests were chosen to physically tie ribbons to seal the promises they had made to each other. One for Ashley’s love for Gemma, one for Gemma’s love for Ashley, and one for their joint love for their gorgeous daughter Aurora.
This was a lovely symbolic act, which only served to make their ceremony even more personal to them!
