Chateau la Durantie
21st July 2018
Alexis and Will from Philadephia celebrated their marriage in REAL style!
Beautiful sounds from the string quartet floated in the balmy summer air, whilst we awaited the arrival of the bride. Lexi was a little late (as was her right) and so the groom insisted on having some refreshments served, to keep the guests cool while they waited, and so champagne all round made for a great start to the ceremony!
The bridal party’s entrance included the cutest little people, two nephews and a neice, and then three bridesmaids, dressed in very chic navy, accompanined by three groomsmen. Lexi looked stunning as she finally floated down the aisle accompanied by both her parents.
The ceremony was relaxed and informal, but at its core, it told the very romantic love story of two people who were very much made for each other. It was incredibly personal, with Lexi and Will exchanging their own very beautiful vows.
We also included a love letters and wine box ceremony where a bottle of champagne from the wedding, along with a love letter from each of them, was placed into a sealed box to be opened on their 5th wedding anniversary (at which time they have pledged to write new love letters to reflect their lives at that point, and so they will continue this ritual throughout their married life).
After signing their wedding certificate we finished with the breaking of glass to a huge cheer and round applause from their lovely guests!
Lexi and Will’s was a wonderfully chilled and effortlessly graceful affair, which I was hugely honoured to be a part of.
I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness together xx
A few words from Lexi…
”Thank you so much for all of the work you put in, to make our day so special. We felt as though you had known us for years and your remarks fit us exactly. We loved that you were so naturally able to add in our special touches.
Our guests said that this was one of their favorite services as you were able to capture the essence of who we are as a couple, communicating by those special looks rather than always with words.
We also appreciate the recommendation of a rehearsal which gave us the chance to get all those concerns out of the way, leading to a seamless wedding day. Your patience was endless, especially while dealing with a frazzled bride!
We are so glad that you were recommended to us and we can’t thank you enough!!”
…and a few words from Will.
”Thank you so much for being our Celebrant at Chateau La Durantie a few weeks ago. You were absolutely fantastic to work with and both Alexis and I, as well as our guests, loved your service.
Importantly for Alexis and I, you managed to create a wonderful service from scratch, that suited our personalities and tastes, all from just a handful of interactions. That is such a gift.
You were incredibly flexible as you adapted to our changing preferences all the way up to the days just before the wedding.
We can’t thank you enough for your part in making our wedding, a day we will never forget.
To anyone who is looking for a Celebrant, I can’t recommend Lisa highly enough.
Thank you so much!!!”
