Chateau de Redon
13th July 2019
The lovely Viv and Ben from London chose the spectacular Chateau de Redon in the Dordogne as the venue for their beautifully styled wedding day.
Guests gathered from all four corners of the globe to share in the wedding celebrations of this this fabulous couple and despite it being one of the hottest days of the summer, they managed to create an effortessly cool and relaxed vibe throughout the day.
Viv and Ben were an absolute joy to work with over the months leading up to their big day – and were even more fun when we finally met in person!
It was a pleasure to bring their vision of the perfect wedding ceremony to life, and I wish them a long and happy marriage xx
A few words from the bride and groom…
”Thankyou Lisa for our perfect ceremony!
We had such an amazing day, lots of great reviews from our guests and you were key to the success.
We loved working with you over the past few months. It’s been a real pleasure and it was so great seeing how you pulled together a service so personal to us and our wishes.
The rehearsal the day before was also a great idea to go through any last minute questions and visualise what would happen the following day. 10/10 from us.
Would definitely recommend.”
The Ceremony
Viv and Ben’s original brief was that they wanted a ceremony which was ‘thoughtful and sincere’, and it was also to have some ‘seriousness and formailty about it’. And they certainly didn’t want anything ‘too flippant or cheesy’. OK, so that gave me something to think about…
Once we started to get to know each other, and talk in more detail, it became clear that they were both in fact feminists, and actually, the most importnat thing of all for them, was to create a ceremony which reflected the fact that they are a competely equal pairing, where neither is treated or valued differently to the other, and that the language used within the ceremony was appropriate, and reflected those values.
They also chose not to include too much personal information – but this doesn’t mean that their ceremony wasn’t completely personalised for them; it told their unique story, reflected their beliefs and also included some wonderful additions from their friends.
The ceremony was relaxed and playful in parts, sincere and emotional in others – all in all, it was exactly what Ben and Viv wanted – and I’m delighted to say that they AND their guests absolutely LOVED IT!!
