Brossac Village

When a personal friend of mine first contacted me to say that her brother wanted to get married in France, in her back garden in our local vllage, I knew straight away that this one was going to be an interesting challenge!
Firstly I arranged to meet with Paul and his bride Amara, who is originally from Thailand, to start to understand their vision for the day and what was important to them. Over the following months I crafted an intimate and bespoke ceremony which would celebrate their love with both emotion and humour. As with all my ceremonies, the couple trusted me completely to deliver their wedding as a surprise on the day, and I think it’s fair to say that the result far surpassed their expectations!
On the day, guests had gathered from France, various parts of the UK, Poland, Hungary, the USA and Australia, to join together in a small private garden in a little known French village, to witness an intimate and beautiful celebration of Paul and Amara’s union.
This wedding was a fantastic example that by employng the right celebrant to guide, advise and coordinate the event, a couple can achieve their perfect wedding ceremony anywhere and within any budget!

The Ceremony
Paul and Amara’s wedding ceremony was a heartfelt and emotional event which at its very heart, told their unique and very beautiful love story. It talked of their love for one another but at the same time, it also helped Paul to express his pride and happiness in becoming a step parent to Amara’s two daughters.
It contained elements which were very moving, and at times made most of the guests a little teary-eyed, but then it also had them in fits of laughter, especially when I shared their engagement story… after all, it’s not often that you hear of someone popping the question in their loft – which incidentally, was fully decorated as a winter wonderland! It’s a long story…
Above everything else, Paul and Amara’s wedding ceremony felt incredibly intimate. The ceremony space had been decorated in a very unique way, by hand, and with colours which reflected Amara’s heritage. Only the closest of friends and family were present; and whilst the ceremony definitley felt very casual and relaxed, at the same time it expressed the gravitas of the occasion and the importance of Paul and Amara’s love for one another.
All in all, it was a very special day for a very special couple, and it was my privilege to help them to achieve their dream French wedding.
Photos
Paul and Amara didn’t have one official photographer to capture their big day. Instead they encouraged all their guests to take photos throughout the day and then invited them to share them all on a private Facebook group. This group had been set up especially for wedding guests to access and contribute to, and it worked brilliantly.
The result was fantastic; hundreds of photos which told the story of Paul and Amara’s big day through the eyes of their guests.
