Tom and Megan’s Renewal of Vows

Unique ceremonies for all occasions

Quai Sud, Etang Vallier, Brossac

26th July 2018

Megan and Tom from Brisbane first made contact when they had booked a two week holiday in France with their English family.

The date just happened to coincide with their 10th wedding anniversairy and so they decided they’d like to seize the opportunity to hold a Renewal of Vows ceremony, whilst they had all their family together. The only thing was – they wanted it to be a surprise for all their guests – and I was more than happy to help!

After exploring a few options, we decided to hold the ceremony at a local restuarant where we had exclusive use of the terrace which overlooks a beautiful leisure lake.

It just goes to show that you really can hold the perfect ceremony anywhere you choose. We just needed to be a little creative! By the time the unbeknowing guests arrived, the stage was set!

The Ceremony…

This was an intimate and romantic celebration of relationship between two people who were as much in love on this day, as they were when they first met 17 years ago.

I was privileged to be able to share their incredible love story; about how it was in the beginning, what their marriage has brought them and about what their hopes and dreams are for the future.

Megan and Tom’s marriage had faced its fair share of challenges  over the past 10 years but it had also brought them the greatest joy of all – two gorgoeus children; Hadley and Digby – and they were very much part of the ceremony.

We included both traditional and personal vows,  some very special promises to their children, some carefully chosen poetry, a hand blessing, a family blessing and we re-blessed their original wedding rings.

It was a truly special celebration of love and of family and after a family photoshoot around the lake, they were able to round of the day with a wonderful celebratory meal at the restaurant.

What Megan had to say…

Feedback from Megan and Tom was immediate and wonderful! They both absolutley loved their ceremony  and they were extremely happy with how the ‘surprise’ element of the day worked too.

Over several months I had worked with both Megan and Tom to help craft some very special vows, and these too made the ceremony very personal and very special for them.

They entrusted me with writing the rest of their completely bespoke script and so only heard it for the first time on the day. Fortunately, they were thrilled!

Congratulations!

The ceremony ended with the signing of their certificate and a glass of champagne before they were whisked off, by the lovely Fanny Decaud, for  a family photo session around the lake.

They then returned to the Quai Sud restaurant for a very special family meal and celebration.

Working with Megan and Tom was an absolute joy and I wish them all much health and happiness for their future lives together!
